Community Sport Team, Yate:
If you enjoy sport or physical activity and would like to help other people share this interest, there is a range of programmes to suit you! All you need is an interest in people and sport (in that order!)
Yate Library

Yate Library is looking for a few more volunteers to join it's home book service team. Volunteers use their own cars to take books out to housebound people. Anyone interested should get in touch as soon as possible

Street Vibes Dance Crew: Staple Hill. Dance Teacher

Volunteer teachers are needed to teach Street, Hip Hop dance to girls aged 7-16 on Thursday evenings

Emmaus, Bristol: Drivers

This supportive community for homeless people needs volunteer drivers to collect and deliver to and from customers (furniture and household items are restored by the Emmaus community for re-sale). You must be 25+ with a clean licence
Walking to Health Volunteers

Do you enjoy walking? Could you encourage others to increase their fitness, by helping to lead walks locally? The South Gloucestershire Walking to Health team is looking to recruit more volunteers who can help devise, map and lead walks, as well as provide support to other walk leaders. You don’t have to commit to helping at every walk and if you prefer, you can offer your services as ‘middle’ or ‘back’ markers rather than front leaders. To volunteer for these roles, you need to be a competent walker (about 4 miles) and enjoy it! The team is looking for sociable, approachable people who are confident at following route maps/instructions and can attend training.

Volunteers with all types of practical skills (ie gardening,DIY,decorating) help this charity that specialises in assisting people with MS.

Frenchay Gardeners: Frenchay Hospital

This group operates from the greenhouse at Frenchay and volunteers help patients with mobility problems, mostly stroke victims to plant seedlings and pot cuttings, which are sold at regular fundraising events.

Community Transport: Yate

Volunteers are needed to drive mini-buses or use their own cars to take people to hospital appointments.

Car Drivers: Yate

Local Doctor’s Surgery welcomes new drivers for his community driving team, to take patients to appointments. Will need to use own car.

CLIC –Sargent  is looking

 for volunteer drivers to deliver and collect goods at Charity Shops around the Southwest. You need to be able to commit 1 day per week for a minimum of 2 months. Some heavy lifting, van provided

Southwold Swimming Club

based in Yate Leisure Centre is looking for additional volunteers to help with the running of the club – this could be directly related to swimming, running the club swim-shop or administering entries into galas…and much more
