Yate Shopmobility is seeking volunteers to assist the co-ordinator on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and/or Saturdays. Volunteers need to have basic admin skills and be able to take the motobility scooters between the library and the garage. If you are interested call into the library to see the co-ordinator, Sheridan or ask at the Volunteer Centre

Café Visitors are sought by the Aspects and Milestones Trust to talk to café users over a cuppa at the Park Centre, Winterbourne, Mondays between 2pm and 4.30pm. The sessions are for people with early stage Dementia and their partners.

Yate Opportunity Group
is a pre-school playgroup for children, many of whom have additional support needs. They are looking for 2 new volunteers to work with the group during their week day morning sessions. Volunteers must be 16+ and previous experience of working with young children on a paid/voluntary or family basis would be an advantage.

Bristol Shopmobility
is looking for a volunteer to assist with the day to day running of its unit at Broadmead/Cabot Circus. No special skills but volunteers must enjoy dealing with people in a friendly, personable manner and be willing to deliver and collect mobility equipment in local area (no lifting).

Paul's Place
Paul’s Place is looking for volunteers to assist at their Day Facility at Coalpit Heath Cricket Club. Monday –Friday

Young & Free Buddying Scheme (Bristol)

This Bristol based organisation is recruiting volunteer befrienders for young adults with physical disabilities. The emphasis is on friendship, fun and gaining new experiences through a range of regular social activities, chosen by members and supported by volunteers. Volunteers should be between 18-30 years.

Social Club for adults with physical disabilities: volunteers needed to help with evening social club and or Day Centre

Ability Sports: Bristol

A sports club for people with disabilities. There are various coaching opportunities in a variety of sports from football to basketball.

Stroke Club: Yate

Volunteers help with activities and refreshments at this club on Monday afternoons.

Leonard Cheshire:Cossham

Various opportunities including befriending, assisting at a dance exercise class to helping with trips to the cinema, appointments,swimming and bingo.

Motor Neurone Disease: South Glos

Informed volunteers provide support on a one to one basis to people with MND and their carers – role includes being a good listener and signposting to local care and support.

ShopMobility: Yate

Volunteers needed to provide practical support to the project worker: hiring out motorised wheelchairs and scooters, promoting the scheme and some basic admin (form filling).The scheme operates Tuesdays and Fridays.
