Refugee Action
is looking for volunteers to help refugees build new lives by assisting their transition and helping find suitable employment. Volunteers would accompany a refugee to an appointment at a Job Centre or help with form filling. Assistance is given to a single refugee for 8 weeks. Volunteers need to be supportive, fluent in English and able to give 1 day a week for 6 months.

Princess Royal Trust: Share with a Carer

Volunteers will provide a sympathetic listening ear to a carer from their own home on a line provided by Princess Royal Trust Carers – if you are interested apply now. The Trust is looking for volunteers to be the first to train for this new project in September.

Bristol MIND: Advocate

Fully trained volunteers promote social inclusion, equality, social injustice and help people speak up for what they need and have their views heard. You need good listening and communication skills – apply  now as the next training starts September 07

National Autistic Society: Parent2Parent Helpline (home-based)

If you are the parent of a child or adult with autism your assistance as a volunteer would be invaluable. Volunteers provide home-based telephone support for up to 2 hours per week.Full training and support.

Giving support to service users during their time in Court and whilst waiting to give evidence.

Womankind Help-line – Bristol

Volunteers give advice, support and information to female callers suffering mental health problems. Full and accredited training provided.
